The last seduction final scene analysis

Throughout this final scene there is low key lighting creating shadows and hiding some of the characters faces as certain points. At the beginning Bridget's face is barely seen because of the shadowing until there is a quick close up of her smiling and laughing at what clay had said. Clays face becomes pushed into the light where he is seen top be sprayed with mace to show the characters reaction in his eyes. There is then another quick close up of Bridget laughing whilst she sprays the mace into his mouth showing that she is glad he is finally dead and she is now free from him.
Once clay is dead Bridget says to mike 'now we have a life together' so that she will make him think that she is doing it all for them two but he is not believing her to she tries to force rape but grabbing him and kissing him but he pushes her violently onto the floor where she realises she needs to get him into jail otherwise she will get caught for the murder. he shouts 'you're going to jail' and takes the phone so it is ready to dial but Bridget starts to take her clothes off whilst saying sly comments about his ex wife to make Mike angry and willing to do what she says in spite. There are quick cut scenes to showing his ex wife and then back to a close up of mikes face to show his expression and that he was having the flashbacks of his ex wife.
Bridget then reveals to the audience that Mike's ex wife was a man and starts to tease him about it making him become extremely angry. At this point there is still low key lighting to reflect the mood and emotion of the scene and what happens throughout.
Once Bridget knows she has mikes full attention she initiates for Mike to rape her which he agrees to and shouts about it but whilst this is happening she rings the police and starts to shout help and 'cries' over the phone which is recorded as evidence for Bridget to accuse Mike of rape which she actually asked for and made his emotions and thoughts become so confused that he did.

After this scene happens, we see Mike in a prison, this starts off blurry so that the audience don't know who was arrested at the time but we are then shown mike chewing gum behind bars. He is taken to a booth to talk on the phone to his loyar who explains the situation he is in and how he cant get out unless he has any more type of evidence to prove what she was like. Mike suddenly gets an idea which is shown with a cut to Bridget getting into a car fully dressed in black like she is going to her husbands funeral. She holds up the card that was the only evidence to show that the murder was planned which makes the audience realise that Bridget had got away with murder. She burns the card with a smile and there is an extreme close up on the name to show that its the end of everything. the camera then stays on Bridget with focus showing her relief of it all and realising that she got away with murder which is not what usually happens in any murder film.
The car is then seen to drive off with the audience having a suspision that she will keep doing this as she feels very safe and smart about what she had done.

Bridget is seen to be very manly through this scene especially with her body language when pushed to the floor and how she approaches mike with force and once she knows she is on the phone to the police she suddenly becomes innocent and shows no care for Mike and what she has gotten him into and how horrible it is to accuse him of rape when she only done it all to put him into jail so she would not get caught for the murder.

the last seduction film responce

The last seduction was produced in 1994 and is about a young woman called Bridget who wants to murder her husband but doesnt want to be caught herself.

As her husband, Clay deals drugs to keep a stable amount of money, she notices one evening  a bag of money that he made and once Bridget convinces Clay to have a shower she runs off with the money from New York to Chicago however on her way there she meets mike.
Bridget changes her name to Wendy so that she doesnt get caught and begins to use mike for her own sexual pleasure and creates emotions for mike towards her which she purposely uses for her own benefit.
She then tells mike how she wants someone dead but doesn't tell him that its her own husband. He finally agrees to with her devil ways of using his emotion and sex to drive him towards being on her side and says that if he does this they can finally live together with no worries.

Once Mike arrives in new york he goes into the flat and wakes Clay yet he was not alarmed but what was happening and realises that its all his wife's idea, and shows mike the pictures of the two and explains what she is doing to him whilst being tied up of course. Mike realises whats happening and both make a plan to make sure no one dies.
Mike turns off the light in the flat as an indication that the murder has been done and Bridget makes her way up but see's Clay tied up on the sofa alive. He begins to say that he will happily take her back and how he loves her, she kisses him but suddenly sprays mace into his mouth killing him instantly with mike in shock and anger about the whole situation. Bridget knows that he would tell and she brings up the past with him and his ex wife's and starts to anger him even more.

The most shocking part of this film is how Bridget frames Mike to get him in prison, she begins to make him anger and shouting for him to 'rape her' and he goes along with it, once she knows he's too angry to stop she rings to police and starts pleading for him to stop, and the police trace the call and arrest mike with evidence of him saying he will rape her.

At the end of this Mike is still in prison with no evidence to get him out and Bridget is seen to burn the only piece of evidence he had in mind showing that she got away with murder and the innocent will never be let out.

Double Indemnity - 1944

double indemnity is a noir film about an insurance sales men called walter and a provocative housewife named Phyllis who wants her husband dead.
They first meet when walter visits the house for an automobile insurance renewal. As they flirt phyllis asks if she could get accident insurance for her husband without him knowing however he realises what she is up to and says no as she wants no part of it.
Walter cant keep phyllis out of his mind and she turns up at his house being seductive and asking if he could stick with the plan and figure out a way to make an accidental murder, he agrees and offers a train accident which they begin to plan.

After a few days the husband breaks his leg which makes the murder plan even easier for the two. Phyllis begins to drive her husband to the train station to drop him off however walter is in the back seat and begins to strangle phyllis's husband when she beeps her horn 3 times. The deed was done by walter  and he then begins to dress up exactly how the husband did and faking the identity when getting onto the train. Once he is safely on the train he approaches the open back of it where he is not alone, he asks the man to get him his cigarettes as it is a struggle of a journey for himself and his 'broken leg' the man agrees leaving walter alone. At a safe point where no one is watching walter jumps off the train safely with a slow speed so no damage would have been done, then places phyllis's husbands body on the train track to make it look like he had an accidental fall.

All is clear for the two until walters partner realises that it could not have been an accident and realises it was walter and at the end of the film walter is seen to be lying on the floor dying from a shot he received from phyllis.

What i enjoyed most about the film was how walter throughout was narrating everything without the audience realising that he had done the murder although it was very obvious from the beginning that he would happly do the murder.

was swinging Britain a myth for many young people in the 60's?

Was swinging Britain a myth for many young people in the 60's?

Many people believe that the swinging 60's was a big myth, i'm going to look at Georgie girl and Up the junction which are two films made in the 60's that showed the 60's and also it's problems.

In up the junction we are introduced to a jolly girl named Polly who is shown to discover and convert to the 60's look after she moves. She changes her hair and style to almost fit in with everyone around her and she seemed very happy to do this. The bright clothing shows a positive impact of the 60's and how woman were becoming more independent and able to do more with their future and lives and also gives a positive representation of the working class with woman shown to be happy and men getting around.
However a certain scene that shows that the swinging 60's was a myth is in the abortion scene. This is where a character named Rube becomes too involved with a boy and doesnt take precaution and becomes pregnant and with her being 17 this would ruin her reputation. In this scene we see Rube and Polly go into a shop which is also an abortionists at the back. The room has very low key lighting with out of date food and rubbish dropped with no care which disgusts the two and shows what some back street abortions are like and that if the abortionists cant keep their own shop clean then how can the abortion be safe for the young woman. This scene gives the audience a glimps at what some back street abortions looked like with infection and death a big worry for many young pregnant woman during this time.

Once Polly goes for a walk, she comes back seeing Rube pale white and looking extremely weak which frightens Polly. At first Rube was worried of her mum finding out which is why she got a backstreet abortion however once she felt weak she straight away wanted her mum to help her as death was a big fear for Rube throughout this whole scene. The audience can only hear not see the pain that Rube is going through and can only think about it and picture what could be happening which also enhances the pain that Rube is going through to the audience and the emotions they feel.
These scenes show that the myth of freedom and more sex was not always considered great to many young oman and sometimes even with men which is also shown in up the junction with Rube's boyfriend finding out when visiting and finding out that his own child is no longer alive and that he had no choice in this.

In Georgie girl however, Georgie's house friend Meredith is shown to have an easy life during the 60's with her character being introduced with her going around in different mens cars and laughing about life to Georgie, yet she has a boyfriend which confuses the audience. This shows how far woman had become independent throughout the 60's and usually the man would cheat yet now more and more woman were cheating and taking advantage of their new freedom in life. This could show that maybe the myth was not true and that some young people enjoyed their new freedom of job choices, where they live and what they do in life which is what started to change society and how people thought about everything. Although not all of the characters had a happy life in the 60's. Georgie is shown at the beginning of the film to be walking around the town window shopping and seeing the new fashion that was introduced of bright colours and patterns. We see Georgie go into the hair dressers to have her hair done which represents the pressure that many young people had to live up to, to belong in the 60's and with Georgie being old fashioned she was faced with a big change and did not keep up with it as straight after she ran to wash her hair.

Overall the 60's put alot of pressure on the new young generation to make a change in their looks and opinions which would have shocked the older generation with how open their children were becoming. This did however help the future with many woman and men being able to do the jobs that they want. The 60's however was a myth overall with deaths and high emotion in young people's lives especially with abortion and money saving.

If personal film responce

If is a british film produced in 1968 displays school life. It was set in an all boys boarding school and shows man problems throughout. We first see the school's discipline and how the boys are treated with physical harm if any rules are broken. There are different types of boys in the film and we see two of the older boys escape the college and go around town with a stolen motorbike and arrive at a cafe where they meet a girl and with no girls at their boarding school there is a scene between one of the boys and the girl where they act like animals in the wild which is slightly strange and unexplained.
After they arrive back they're found drinking and acting rude where they become physically punished which push the boys to the edge. at the end the boys create a 'revolution' against the school by shooting the people.
I feel that the film doesn't reflect the 60's and the problems and is too surreal to be taken seriously with men lying in draws and a sudden revolution which isn't realistic to me. I personally did not like the film as some parts changed from colour to black and white imply because they did not have enough money and also many parts of the film were not explained well and the ending just stopped making me feel like there was much more to it.

Georgy girl film responce

This is a film about a young woman named Georgy who is extremely talented and loves to work with children. Her appearance is different to the usual 60's girl as she wears very plain and dark clothing however her bubbly personality over throws this. she lives with her best friend Meredith who is the complete opposite to Georgy with colour clothing and a good life going out every night to party;s and seeing many guys.
Whilst Meredith sleeps around, she also has a boyfriend named Jos who she becomes pregnant with and decides to keep this child and marry Jos.
however things start to change with jos sudddenly in love with georgy and meredith wanting to give up the baby, both georgy and jos decide that they will keep the baby and live together. Theyre both seen to be happy together however Jos is sometimes angry with Georgy for always paying attention to the baby, so he leaves her out of the blue.
This leaves Georgy alone and desperate for money and help, where then she goes back to her old, and old aged family friend Leamington whose wife had recently died, and with the contract earlier in her life of her becoming his mistress, she accepts and marry's him making sure that her future for money and the child is sorted.
At the end of the film we see both their facial expressions which seem disappointed and worried, with Leamington showing that he realises that he may of made a mistake.

At first I didn't understand the film and didn't like it but once i thought about how it reflected the 60's and how some woman actually lived iv'e began to like it more and more.

Georgy girl (1966) opening scene

In the opening scene we hear the song 'Georgy girl' with the lyrics representing her.
We firstly see Georgy walking down the high street beginning to swing her purse with her hair tied up and dressed in all black with a leather coat on, which is opposite to the swinging 60's look that most woman had with their brightly patterned dresses and done up hair.
We then see Georgy doing a quick glance into a hair dressers and noticing the hair styles that are displayed that reflect the woman's style in the 60's with her then taking in what the hair styles are like and seems to be showing a little interest in the woman's hair styles inside.
Georgy starts to walk away but then is shown to have a quick change of mind and decides to have a go with the look. The camera shows all 3 wigs one by one, then again from the front angle which then shows Georgy standing outside the shop with her new hair style looking pleased. however, Georgy then touches her hair and looks at it into the window noticing what it looks like a starts to run until in a public bathroom where her hair has now fallen out where she also wets it and puts it back up to make it look like how it did before and she walks out with confidence and a smile
The opening scene shows how different Georgy is to the typical girl of the 60's with her hair and old fashioned preserved style introduces Georgy's personality straight away for the audience.
